How to evolve: Ivysaur itself evolves through Bulbasaur, and trainers only need to level up Bulbasaur to level 16 to complete the evolution. As the Pokémon levels up, it will once again automatically evolve into a Venusaur when the Ivysaur reaches level 32. To level up a Pokémon, you will need to either engage it in a battle or use Experience Candy.
