Pokerogue Egg Hatching Mechanics
Mastering the Pokerogue egg hatching mechanism in is the key to successfully breeding powerful Pokémon. This involves a number of elements, including different tiers of eggs, eggs hatching condition, and their waves left to hatch. Understanding these core concepts not only improves hatching efficiency, but also helps players make smart strategic choices that prepare them for the challenges of the game.
1. Tiers of Eggs
Eggs are categorized into five tiers: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Manaphy. The type of Pokémon hatched from each tier of egg depends on the base capture cost of the Pokémon.
The lower the base capture cost, the easier it is for a Pokémon to hatch from a normal egg.
- Pokémon with a base capture cost of 1-3 stars will usually hatch from Common Eggs.
- Pokémon with a base capture cost of 4-5 stars are more likely to hatch from Rare Eggs.
- Pokémon with a base capture cost of 6-7 stars are more likely to hatch from Epic Eggs.
- Legendary Pokémon with a base capture cost of 8-9 stars are more likely to hatch from Legendary Eggs.
- Manaphy Eggs are the rarest eggs in the game and can currently only be obtained through special events. Due to its uniqueness, the Manaphy Egg contains only two types of Pokémon: Manaphy or Phione. When hatching, players have a 1/8 chance of getting a Manaphy and a 7/8 chance of getting a Phione, making Manaphy Eggs a dream come true for many players.
Each tier of egg has a specific chance of being drawn in a Gacha machine. Below is detailed information on the probability of each tier of egg:
Rarity | Pull Chance | Pull Chance (Legendary UP! Gacha) |
Common | 203/256 – (79.29%) | 202/256 – (78.90%) |
Rare | 44/256 – (17.18%) | 44/256 – (17.18%) |
Epic | 7/256 – (2.73%) | 7/256 – (2.73%) |
Legendary | 1/256 – (0.39%) | 1/256 – (0.39%) |
Legendary UP! Gacha Target | 0/256 – (0.00%) | 1/256 – (0.39%) |
Manaphy | 1/256 – (0.39%) | 1/256 – (0.39%) |
2. Egg Hatching Condition
To hatch Pokémon Eggs, you need to complete a certain number of waves in any game mode. These waves do not need to be completed consecutively, so even if you fail a wave, it will not affect the hatching progress. Specifically, you will need to complete the following waves to hatch eggs of different levels:
- 10 waves to hatch Common Eggs.
- 25 waves to hatch Rare Eggs.
- 50 waves to hatch epic and Manaphy Eggs.
- 100 waves to hatch Legendary Eggs.
You will have the chance to get more rare Pokémon by completing the challenge!
Rarity | Starter Cost | Waves to Hatch |
Common | 1-3 Points | 10 |
Rare | 4-5 Points | 25 |
Epic | 6-7 Points | 50 |
Legendary | 8-9 Points | 100 |
Manaphy | N/A | 50 |
3. Waves Left to Hatch
You can have up to 99 eggs at a time, and all eggs will undergo wave completion at the same time during the hatching process. This means that no matter how many eggs you have, they will all hatch together as long as the appropriate wave requirements are met, enhancing your Pokémon collecting experience.
Message | Waves Left To Hatch |
Sounds can be heard coming from inside! It will hatch soon! | ≤ 5 |
It appears to move occasionally. It may be close to hatching. | ≤ 15 |
What will hatch from this? It doesn’t seem close to hatching. | ≤ 50 |
It looks like this Egg will take a long time to hatch. | > 50 |
Pokerogue Egg Hatching Pity System
Even if you’re out of luck, the game features an Egg Pity System to help make it easier to get the rare Pokémon and egg treasures you missed.
For Rare, Epic, and Legendary Eggs, if you hatch 9, 59, or 412 Eggs respectively and do not get one of them, the next time you hatch a Common Egg, it will be forcibly converted to that unearned Rare Egg.
In addition, if you hatch 9 consecutive eggs of any level without getting a new Pokémon, the system will try to force the 10th egg to be converted into a new Pokémon of that level.
1. Shiny UP! and Move UP! Gacha Machines
Rarity | Pity Amount for Rarity | Pity Amount for New Pokémon |
Rare | 9 | 9 |
Epic | 59 | 9 |
Legendary | 412 | 9 |
2. Legendary UP! Gacha Machines
Each non-legendary egg taken from Legendary UP!Gacha will be treated as two pity Legendary eggs.
Legendary UP! Gacha is different from other Gacha machines in that it increases your chances of getting a Legendary by adding a second Legendary Egg type to the drop pool. These eggs are called Legendary UP! Gacha Target Pokémon, or simply Banner Eggs. This second egg counts towards your Legendary Egg Pity System, but does not count towards Repeat Pity.
- Even if you draw the same Banner Pokémon 9 times in a row, there is no guarantee that a new Pokémon will appear on the next Legendary Egg.
- If you draw a duplicate Non-Banner Pokémon 9 times in a row and the 10th egg is a Banner, you will get a Banner Pokémon instead of a new Pokémon.
It should be noted that in Legendary UP! Gacha, you have a 50% chance of drawing a Banner Egg to get the target Banner Pokémon, and a 50% chance of hatching any Pokémon, including the Banner Pokémon.
- This means that just because a Banner Pokémon hatches doesn’t mean you’ve definitely drawn a Banner Egg. Therefore, it is almost impossible to accurately track your stats.
In short, Legendary UP! Gacha improves players’ chances of getting their target Legendary Pokémon by increasing the probability of Banner Eggs, but it also introduces some special mechanics.
The Weight of the Egg
Each Pokémon’s base weight is set to 100. Below is a table of corrections for that base weight. All weight values will be rounded to the nearest whole number after calculation to ensure accuracy and usability of the values.
Type | Weight Modifier |
Costs 1 point | 2x |
Costs 2 points | 1.5x |
Costs 4, 6, or 8 points | 1.75x |
Costs 3, 5, 7, or 9 points | 1x |
Alolan, Galarian, Paldean, or Hisuian | 0.5x |
Egg Moves
Once the egg has hatched, you will be able to use that Pokémon as a starter in future matches. It is important to note that hatched Pokémon will not automatically be added to your team for the current match. Additionally, hatched Pokémon will carry special Egg Moves, with each Pokémon having four Egg Moves, including three Common Moves and one Rare Move.
- Whenever you hatch a Pokémon for the first time, you will inevitably receive a random egg move for that Pokémon.
- For Pokémon that hatch afterward, a throw will be made to determine which Egg Move you receive. If the result of the throw is an Egg Move you already have, nothing will change.
The chances of obtaining rare eggs of different levels are as follows:
- Legendary Eggs: 1/6
- Epic Eggs: 1/12
- Rare Eggs: 1/24
- Common Eggs: 1/48
When using the Move UP! Gacha Machine, the odds of getting a Rare Egg will be doubled.
When purchasing eggs and candies, the odds of getting Rare Eggs will also be adjusted.
