Overview
In Pokerogue, Houndoom is a dual-attribute Pokémon of the DARK and FIRE lineages. It evolved from Houndour and inhabits the Metropolis and Abyss Biome. Its powerful Special Attack and decent speed make it an effective Special Attacker. In matchups, Houndoom can serve as a fast special attacker, an attribute-restraint specialist, a disruptive player, or even a surprise physical attacker. Despite its weaker defense, Houndoom’s variety and adaptability allow it to find its place in a wide range of matchup strategies, and it can play an important role in both singles and doubles matchups.

1. Early Bird – Accelerates awakening from sleep. The number of rounds a sleep lasts is halved and rounded down. For example, a sleep that originally lasted three turns is halved to 1.5 turns and rounded down to 1 turn. If the sleep lasts only 1 turn, halving it to 0 turns will cause the Pokémon to wake up immediately. 2. Flash Fire – This effect triggers when the user is struck by a Fire-type move (including Fire-type hidden powers). Once triggered, the user’s Fire-type moves will deal 1.5x damage. While this effect is active, the user is completely immune to damage from all Fire-type attacks and fire-attributed hidden powers (the hit points and effects of these moves are ignored). For Fire-type Pokémon with this ability, Will-O-Wisp triggers the effect but brings no additional effects. If a non-Fire-type Pokémon has this ability, Will-O-Wisp will not only activate the effect, but will also have its usual effects. 3. Hidden Ability: Unnerve (Available through transfer) – In a matchup, the enemy Pokémon will never use the berries they are carrying because they are nervous. In S.O.S. battles, the enemy is more likely to call for assistance. |

How to evolve: Houndoom itself is evolved from Houndour after reaching LV.24. While in battle, if holding a Houndoominite, it can super evolve into a Mega Houndoom. but after the battle, the super evolution effect will be contacted and return to the Houndoom’s normal state.
